Jonathan Anderson launched his JW Anderson label in 2008, then shortly after debuted his womenswear collection at London Fashion Week 2010. A graduate at the London College of Fashion, he is heralded as one of the most important British designers to emerge in recent years.
Anderson’s collections are colourful with minimal, soft lines. Masculine and feminine worlds coexist, giving life to androgynous looks that are rich in details, seen in eccentric prints and accessories. The designer's aesthetic swings close to the younger generation, and his collaborations illustrate this: the redesign of the classic Chuck Taylor by Converse, the work with celebrated photographer Alasdair McLellan in redefining everyday items, and yet there is the book The Smell of Us, where the teen cast of Larry Clark’s film of the same name are shot romping around Paris in Anderson’s pre-fall collections. Honoured by numerous awards, JW Anderson has established itself as one of the most exciting new brands of the decade. In 2013, the young designer took the helm at the historic Spanish brand Loewe as creative director.
